Come Join Us In Prayer

Hello FaithWalk community!!!  We want to share something with everyone and ask for your support.

There’s a pagan festival planned for Lake Lajoie near Chickasaw State Park. They’re planning to set up altars and worship false gods out there. A group of believers from Hardeman County is planning to meet on Memorial Day—Monday, May 26th at 8 AM—at Lake Lajoie campgrounds (just off Hwy 100). We’re going to pray, read some scripture, and sing a few worship songs over the campground before the festival starts on Wednesday.

Several churches in the area also use that spot for kids’ camps just a few weeks later, so we really want to cover the place in prayer. We need people to come stand in faith and pray for God’s presence to move and for the people attending the festival to find the truth.

If anyone has questions, you can reach out to Matt Boatwright, (731)267-5004 or Rachel Jeter (731) 212-1418.

Thank you FaithWalk family!

Lakeshore Campground Needs Our Help

Lakeshore Campground has become a special place for many of us over the last few years, and in talking with leadership from the campground, they have identified areas that could use our financial support.

They are focusing on refreshing the waterfront area at Lakeshore-one of the camp’s most loved spaces. This project is called Dockside Dreams, and they are working to preserve and enhance this area, making it even better for future campers.

The Campership Fund covers scholarships and fully funds the Camp Hope series for children facing difficult circumstances like drug, alcohol, and sexual abuse along with the emotions (like anger) that come from their encounters. About 17% of campers attend thanks for camperships. They have a goal of $100,000 this year to cover the growing need. For kids facing big challenges, Camp Hope offers them a safe, caring environment to find joy, healing and friendship.

Ways to get involved in this ministry:

  • Make a donation towards the Annual Fund or the Campership Fund
  • Invite a Lakeshore representative to your church to talk more about their projects and needs
  • Organize a group of Faithwalk brothers and sisters for a workday to help prepare for upcoming camp at the campground

If you are interested in helping financially or in other ways, please contact Katlyn White katly@lakeshorecamp.org.

Community Updates

Dear Faithwalk Jackson Community,

We come to you today with some sorrowful and exciting news. Just as the seasons must change, so shall we. Bro. David Lucius has been serving as our community pastor for many years, and he has recently expressed to the Secretariat that he is being led by the Holy Spirit to resign this position effective December 31, 2024. Bro. David has worked tirelessly for the past 11 years helping to build and minister to the Faithwalk Jackson Community. “It is not about me” and “How’s your prayer life? Are you praying with your wife/husband?” are words spoken by Bro. David that have challenged and encouraged us all as we prepared for each walk as well as in our own individual lives. His words will continue to be repeated and passed down to challenge and encourage new believers for many years to come. We are so grateful for his wisdom, guidance and direction throughout these years.

With this being said, the Faithwalk Jackson nominating committee has recently met and is very excited to offer the recommendation of Bro. Scott Jewel as the next community pastor. Bro. Scott attended Walk to Emmaus #104 and began serving in the Faithwalk Jackson Community on walk #3. Since that time, he has served faithfully on both the men’s and women’s walks. He began his ministry in 1987 as a youth pastor and later served many years as the pastor at Beech Grove Baptist Church in Dyer, TN. Please join us at the Gathering on Nov. 2, 2024 at the West Jackson Baptist Church to wish Bro. David well in his new endeavors and welcome Bro. Scott as our new community pastor.

On another exciting note, the Faithwalk Jackson Secretariat would like to joyfully announce the lay leaders for Faithwalk Jackson 47 and 48:

Eddie Kiestler and Rachel Jeter.

Please remember Eddie and Rachel in your prayers as they seek the Lord’s will in assembling these teams. Both walks will be held at the Lakeshore Campground in Eva, TN.

Thank you for your continued support of the Faithwalk ministry and your willingness to serve. Please pray for each of these lay leaders and for the men and women that will experience the great love of God on the Spring weekends.

In His Service,

FWJ Secretariat
